5.4.4 Knowledge building and the power of collaborating knowledge
Knowledge building refer to the process of creating new cognitive artifacts as a result of common goals,group discussions and synthesis ideas.
This happens when students combine new information with what they already know to generate ideas and understandings that are new to them. Knowledge building is not about finding certain information on the internet, and then write about it. Its about finding information on the net and you analyze multiple sources of information for common themes, interprets, synthesis and evaluate.
Knowledge building skills include problem solving, decision making, designing and etc
Collaborative knowledge building
This is learning activity in a formal setting that involve group work. Knowledge building is seen as creating or modifying public knowledge. it is considered as deep costructivism that involves making a collective inquiry into a specific topic and coming to a deeper understanding through interactive questioning, dialogue and continuing improvement of ideas.
